How will he cross the borders ??

The Nationalists and MB are extremely angry from George Galloway and his convey. They even boycotted it before it reached to the 84236359 Egyptian borders as soon as its program in Egypt was declared.
To their surprise Mr.Galloway ,who attacked Mubarak and his regime fiercely from two months ago in front of the Egyptian Embassy and on TV during the war of Gaza , met the NDP public enemy Ahmed Ezz and took the blessing from the regime to go on with his aid convoy to Rafah.
Now people remembered that he is politician and he was accused of taking bribes from Saddam.
Look I respect Galloway but again he is a politician in the end of the day, already I do not know how those people expect him to cross the borders in Egypt !!??  I do not know if he apologized to the Ambassador of Egypt and to Ahmed Ezz for his statement against Mubarak or not but for sure he explained his position to the Egyptian Ambassador , he won’t cross the borders after calling the Egyptian army to revolt directly, this is a matter of logic !!
Of course I  know on the other hand that the Egyptian regime is using this convey to enhance its damaged reputation in the Arab and Islamic world wisely , this is a political game I am afraid.
In the end I do not care who Galloway met or  what he said but all what I care is this convoy reaches to the people who really need it .
By the way here is Galloway’s twitter.
Updates#1:
  • I wrote this post before knowing the news that the convoy has not entered yet Gaza , it is still standing on the borders of Al Arish. The Egyptian regime is insisting that the convoy would enter from the Oga crossing
  • Galloway believes that tomorrow the convoy will continue its trip , I do not  know but I think the Egyptian regime should leave it pass from Al Arish crossing
  • Some people are attacking the convoy
  • Two journalists died in the convoy in its way to Rafah , both of them died in Car accidents

  1. I have been following Mr. Galloway journey from the beginning and even contributed a small amount of money for the people of Gaza thru their website and it is common sense that Mr Galloway and his convoy have to contact the local authority in order to go thru' all those countries including in EU and also North Africa to get to Gaza. The main issue here is to get the medical aid contributed by ordinary people of UK to Gaza. We were all praying everyday that their journey to Gaza will be a successful and we know Egypt is going to be the last and difficul obstacle they will have to go thru' and indeed they were treated badly in Egypt and you could read from Viva Palestina website where the convoy vehicles were attacked by some thugs and some of the convoy members were attacked and taken to the hospital for treatment and four of the members were not allowed to enter to Egypt! This didnt happen in other countries they went thru' including Morrocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya but only in Egypt! Alhamdulilah it was a blessing day that today on our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw birthday, the convoy crossed over to Gaza thru' Rafah instead Israeli border. I am so proud for their bravery and good cause to bring this medical aid for the people of Gaza after so many obstacles. May Allah swt/God repays them for their good deed insyallah.

  2. Yes I know that Egypt unfortunately became the hardest stage in the convoy but thank God that the convoy crossed from the Rafah crossing at last

  3. Very shameful act by the Egyptian regime to be a culprit in this inhumane Gaza blockade and even deny entry of the UK convey non-medical goods (food, clothing and toys) thru Rafah crossing.

    From BBC:
It was held for a day because the Egyptian authorities objected to its carrying some non-medical goods. Gaza is under a tight blockade by the Israeli military, which Egypt helps to enforce at the Rafah border crossing.

  4. "somebody" posted an unverified rumour in the blogosphere that Galloway met with Ahmed Ezz, predicting very well the reaction of the Egyptian Left to such an accusation (i.e. they cancelled their red carpet welcome and kept obediently off the streets). Would anyone like to suggest which agency that unverified rumour might have leaked from??? (As far as i can determine that meeting was never in reality planned or took place). Any thoughts?
