Bloggers Unite : The Refugees day

I am participating today in the Bloggers’ Unite 2008 and when I sat refugeesunite_15 and wrote this post I did not know exactly to write about which refugees , God knows now we have too many refugees in the Arab world.

Should I speak about the open wound of Palestine and the Palestinians whom since the 1948 became I think the biggest population refugee in the world ,after all most refugees return back to their home and to their land after couple of months or may be years ,may be after 2 or 3 years  but the Palestinian refugees now are waiting for 60 years , people were born and died there without seeing their land and their home , waiting for someone else then the Arabs to believe in their right to return !!

Or Should I speak about Darfur refugees !!?? At least the Palestinian refugees do not suffer from terrible inhuman conditions like those poor Darfurians !! The poor Darfurians whose land got treasures underneath it where as they are starving , an economic struggle turned in to a political struggle or it was a political struggle turned to an economic turned in to racial struggle !! All what I know is that children are dying there where as big countries are fighting through them indirectly !!

Or Should I speak about the Iraqi refugees with their different sects and religions !! The Iraqi refugees who were in better conditions in their own country under the dictatorship of Saddam with all his crimes against humanity than in the time of the invaders who promised them with freedom and destruction to become in the end refugees.

The Iraqi government is trying to encourage to the Iraqi Refugees to return home but in vain only very few hundreds had returned from Egypt, Jordan and Syria while thousands reaching to Millions are leaving the country  today before  tomorrow thanks to the insecurity and the daily routines of bombing here and there !!

We were all shocked to know the terrible news of how thousands of Christian Iraqis fled their land and started to live as refugees in Europe just like the Sunni Iraqis in Jordan and Egypt and the Shiite Iraqis in Syria, well  you don’t know is that there are other Iraqi minorities unknown to us are forced t leave thanks to the Kurdish expansion in Northern Iraq. Not only the Iraqis are turned in to refugees ,well believe it or not there were Palestinian refugees in Iraq who were forced to leave to Syria.

Or Should I speak about the African refugees in Egypt whom are falling on our borders because they think that Israel is the promised land for Africans just like it is for the Jews , of course they do not know that even the Ethiopian Jews are third degree citizens there. By the way Egypt takes a lot of blame because these terrible incidents but the world forgets that the Egyptian regime acts based on Israeli requests. But of course we can’t defend ourselves after the infamous massacre of the Sudanese refugees in the 2006 new years eve !!

Or should I speak about the Muslim Burmese refugees in Burma , already they are oppressed minority in their own country and they are suffering a lot in their refugee too, no one is giving them a help especially the rich Muslim countries !!

The rich Muslim countries do not give enough  help to the Muslim refugees in the world as they should whether economically or politically and they can , they can so much. We will be asked one day what we had done to those people.

Now can you imagine my confusion to write about the refugees especially in our part of the world !!??

I can’t imagine that I would leave my home and my life and live like a refugee ,it is a terrible fearful thing I do not wish it to anyone any where.

Again it is unfair that Dubai builds the biggest what ever can be seen from the Moon and leave those people sleep in tents.

  1. There is so much to post about, really hard to know where to start. There is so much injustice in the world. Maybe by this day of posts we can bring some little part to the attention of the world, if so, then we have been successful.

  5. Well, sounds like the argument I had with some Israeis towards the palestinians, and I guess you can find the same arguments if you ask around in Khartoum about the Darfurians.

Nevertheless thanks for a good blog that I have added too my feed-list in my browswer!
