Al Ahram’s Way to Photoshop of Horror

Al Ahram thinks that we are still living n the Nasserite era where it can change facts as much it could and nobody will pay attention. I always know that they edit news but I did not know that they edit in photos aside from the usual slight retouch to give the youth look to our old regime faces but  heavy retouch !!?? well we did not see it coming.
Today Al Ahram is celebrating the second round of direct talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis at Sharm, there are two full pages dedicated to Mubarak effort in the peace talks which I did not pay attention to , of course if I paid attention like Wael , I would notice something which is far more interesting than the talks.

Dear Wael found out that Al Ahram change the position of Mubarak in that photo with Obama , Bibi, Abu Mazen and Abdullah II at the White house corridor , you know that photo where Mubarak as an old man was walking slowly at the far left besides Bibi and Obama leading the leaders of the Middle East with all the confidence he had , well according to Al Ahram today Mubarak was the one who is leading the leaders of the Middle East !!
Here is the official original photo :

Here is Al Ahram’s photo today from the website

and From the printed version
Way to Photoshop
No shadows just like the vampire !!
According to protocols you can’t lead your host !!
Check my post about Mubarak's photos in Washington.
It seems that Abdel Salam El-Nabulsi has left Akhbar Al Youm and is working at Al Ahram now. “A reference to his historical character in {a day of my life} film with Abdel Halim Hafez”

  3. As long as they went to the trouble of mirror-imaging him and moving him to the front, they should have straightened his tie.

  4. I looked at the two versions of the photos with a great deal of suspicion. The shadows were troublesome, but not definitive evidence because of several possible light sources directed at the men. The placement of the tie was remarkable as well, because in one version it's off to the left and in the other it's to the right.

In the end I think it's difficult to tell. There could have been more than one photo taken, each with Mubarak in a different position. If they did doctor the photos, then I think Ahram did so brilliantly (with the exception of the tie), and I think whoever is responsible for the doctoring should be fired and never allowed to work in Egyptian journalism again.

My opinion is that we don't need any evidence that Al Ahram is a biased newspaper. I never read Ahram in Egypt. I read Al Masry Al Youm (an independent paper). It seems finding accurate information in Egypt is a matter of finding one or two sources you can trust and keeping your ear to the ground on the streets, to hear what people are saying. Word on the street is that Haife Wehbe is doing a halftime show in the next Ahly game, which will be played in Jurasulem while they serve American beer. Is nothing sacred anymore?!!

If you don't see that the Website version is an obvious and ludicrous fake then you haven't made enough effort.

Only one photo was used for the foreground. That's the official original. The five men were removed from the photo onto a transparent background. That was separated into two layers; one with Mubarak and one with the other four. Mubarak's layer was flipped about a vertical axis (mirror image). It was then scaled up about 20 percent and slid to the lower right with respect to the other leaders, to place Mubarak in front. A completely new shadow layer was then created for all the leaders; none of the original shadows were used. Finally, the background was replaced with a picture of the rug with no leaders walking on it. To see that, look at the rug border adjacent to the rightmost leader's shoulder. The circle in the border pattern touches him in the original, but is completely separate in the Website version.

This is not a close call. It's blatant and amateurish.

  7. you pointed rightly unfortunately OSAMA SARAYA thinks that we still live in Sadat time ..he fools us..to place Mubarak in front..he was doing the same way of El Akhbar writer MOUSSA SABRY towards president Sadat ...now it's Saray's turn to disappear ...
